Why is the Talan Project being done in Oklahoma?

Many of the Talan Team members were born in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has arguably the most compelling entertainment initiative program in the United States. Furthermore, Boiling Point Media is headquartered in Oklahoma City, and Red River Cinematics is based in Marietta, Oklahoma. We also think it is high time Oklahoma has a project that returns to the roots of good, value-oriented entertainment, and “Talan: The Journeyman” will be a film Okies can be proud of.

If the Talan Project is to be wholly created in Oklahoma, why is the kickoff in Gainesville, Tx?

The owner of Krootz Brewery is the first cousin of the project Creator and the Red River Cinematics CEO, and we are all of the Sykora family, originally immigrants from what is today the Czech Republic to Love County, Oklahoma. Ever since the brew pub was established, we’ve been discussing Chad Sykora brewing and selling the beers that are featured throughout the Talan Project. There are more than 58 beers and ‘vineries’ (what wine is called in Talan) in the Talan Project.

Who will be the actors for the main characters?

The Talan Team has not reached out to potential lead actors yet, although we plan to do so soon. However, to keep the budget down, most of our actors will be relatively unknown. The full casting cannot be done until we are fully funded, hopefully near the end of the year.

Who all will be at the Kickoff Party?

Ryan and Stephanie of Boiling Point Media will be in attendance, as will the Executive Producer Kevin Jackson, the Creator Dale Sykora, and the Red River Cinematics CEO Craig Sykora and Matt Johnson, Project Cartographer.

Since the Video Vignettes are AI, why not do the movie with AI?

One of the limitations with AI right now and for the foreseeable future is that it is excruciatingly difficult to obtain consistent performance for a given character. It is arguably more challenging than working with live actors.

Additionally, for the next few years, the law about AI-generated content is still in flux. Right now, the contracts for using AI require that they get a an intolerable percentage of profits downstream, and that alone is a good reason not to do a movie using AI.

Lastly, one of the major design goals of the project is a return to classic heroes. News flash: classic heroes are not AI.

What is the plan for the website while we are awaiting the Talan Project?

If our crowd funding is successful, we plan to post monthly video vignettes focused on one of our main characters with one of our Talan Team members doing the intro and outro for the vignette. Also, we’ll post roughly weekly updates with still shots and other interesting tidbits about the project.

How in the world can you plan to make a movie and series when five of the eight Talan Team members have engineering degrees, including three who are submarine nuclear geeks?

All of these engineering geeks are blessed with wives who influenced and tempered their natural bent toward their geeky nature. All these men acknowledge the blessing that their brides represent. This strong female character is a conscious design goal of the Talan Project, that the females therein are strong because they are female not despite being female.

One of these geeks, Kevin Jackson is responsible for the commitment of half the project budget, and this came through his industry expertise with technical origins. The others crafted the novel narrative, the Talan geography and topography, and then the screenplay for the movie pilot and the teleplays for the series. They discovered that, buried under their technical geekness, are strong creative foundations.
